Frank Washington's Ice The Original by The Original Producer Studio II Revue In 1983…in a recording studio in Philadelphia…A small group of world renowned Philly-based musicians, assembled by Executive Producer Carvel Watson, gathered together and created a dance floor classic that has since swept not only the nation, but the far reaches of the WORLD! It is ICE! Ice is the timeless story of a mysterious dance floor DIVA – a worldly, experienced WOMAN, and the effects she had on a NAÏVE, unsophisticated MAN – it is a story of SEDUCTION, PASSION, and HEARTBREAK! Ice is as cool as it is hot. The impressive lineup of musicians was comprised of percussion wizard DOC GIBBS (bandleader of the Emeril Live Food Network TV Show), bass virtuoso DOUG GRIGSBY (currently Tina Maria’s music director and bandleader), and the phenomenal Kenny Jackson on the Leslie guitar. Additionally, world-renowned keyboard master, BILL JOLLY (Philadelphia’s Main Events band leader/music director) blended in his harmonic genius, while the internationally renowned saxophone master SAM PEAKES provided a soulful wail. Awesome vocalist FRANK WASHINGTON provided the smooth harmonic vocal story. Brenda Payton (Love on a Two Way Street), wrote, arranged and sang the background vocals along with Mickey and Foo (The Best of Friends). The audio remix producer on this production was the one and only T. Life the producer of Evelyn Champaign King’s huge disco hit “Shame, Only Love Could Be The Blame,” which also coincidently featured on sax, and was co produced by the great Sam Peaks. Philly Producer CARVEL WATSON, who has meticulously selected some of Philadelphia’s most notable musicians and artists to participate in the project. Ice provided a raw and poignant vehicle that successfully blended all of their combined talents and it became a major hit. For a very short time, Studio II Revue is offering true collectors and the public the opportunity to own a limited edition of this great LP from the actual original master pressing duplicated from the original master track. This means that instead of settling for an inferior and illegal copy, you can now own an authentic and concise reproduction of the master track from STUDIO II REVUE records and tapes The LP is pressed on black vinyl and comes housed in a minimal sleeve. The backside of the sleeve has a die-cut circle to reveal the titles on the label of the record itself. These are UNSOLD, NEVER OPENED, and NEVER PLAYED, 12” SINGLES. These are limited edition LP's (only 2,500 pressed). Studio II Revue recordings give you the unique opportunity to fully appreciate the great Philadelphia music of the early 80s. The sounds are sharper….with the consistent and thumping drumbeats playing under crunching guitar and throb of the bass lines, the wailing sax with the fierce forceful vocal lines placed just in front…the music is far more chilled out and has a strong danceable aesthetic. Unique because our commitment to bringing you the very best sound of this generation, that commitment is matched by our dedication and expertise in producing the most remarkable sound currently available from the original 12” collectors records.
